Macon R-1 Elementary School is looking for a certified Upper Eementary Classroom Teacher (ELA/Social Studies) for the 2024-2025 school year.  

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Provides instruction to students using effective instructional strategies.
• Participates in curriculum review and design.
• Creates and implements a classroom disciplinary plan.
• Creates lesson plans and activities to implement and supplement instruction.
• Monitors student progress and adjusts instruction accordingly.
• Participates in building, grade level and/or subject area committees.
• Participates in professional development activities.
• Maintains accurate student records including attendance, grades, and discipline.
• Completes and submits forms and required reports in a timely manner.
• Communicates regularly with parents regarding progress and other educational concerns.
• Reports suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination, and harassment as directed by Board policy.
• Prepares lesson plans for use by a substitute teacher.
• Attends established traditional school-sponsored activities (e.g., Back-to-School Night, Open House, programs, activities, and faculty meetings).
• Assumes other duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
• Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate or Certification in progress to be considered
• Positive interpersonal relationship skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of digital resources, tools, and instructional applications
