Macon R-1 School District is seeking a Parents As Teacher Educator for the 2024-2025 school year.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS  

• Possess one of the following:

1. Four year degree in Early Childhood Education or related field 
2. Two Year Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development 
3. 60 college credits and two years experience in a program working with young children and their families
4. Five years of successful experience in a program working with young children and their families

• Strong ability in working with young children and their families
• Strong communication and organizational skills

  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

1. Provide personal visits and services as prescribed by the program to a specified number of families as assigned by the Parents as Teachers Supervisor.
2. Plans and/ or assists in implementing group meetings.
3. Refers children ages birth through age three with potential developmental delays to First Steps.
4. Provides developmental screenings for children six months and above on a yearly basis.
5. Participates in the district’s yearly kindergarten screenings.
6. Keeps all records of caseload children accurate and up to date.
7. Provides the Parents as Teachers Supervisor with all information needed for required state and district reports.
8. Attend regularly scheduled Parents as Teachers staff meetings.
9. Assumes other duties as assigned.

Terms of Employment:

Full time position with benefits

Salary and work year to be established by the Superintendent.
